KNOWING, YET LOVING

He talked as if she glided on air, he sung her song
Born to his dreams, he awakened
Turned and wept
Her essence gone

He knew her smile
If only for a minute
If only for a while

He knew her laugh
From tender lips kissed
Although disguised, a touch he missed

He knew her eyes
Colors changing to deepest blue
He knew the danger
Her soul, he looked into

She left the path they walked a while
He knew she was born to roam
Gone was her eyes, her laugh, her smile
Gone, the only time love felt like home
